“Getting the best out of your Golden Retriever”

The Golden Retriever Club are delighted to announce a Training Day and Follow up Classes
A rare opportunity to train with some of the best Golden Retriever trainers in the country
The Novice Training Day
Date: Sunday 4th May 2025
Start Time: 9.30 for a 10 am prompt start
Venue: Orchard Cottage, Dry Hill Farm, Dormansland, Surrey RH7 6PD

The Day: will consist of two classes:

Class 1 is for the less experienced puppies, dogs and handlers. Aimed at Novice Dog and /
Handler or someone just wishing to give gundog training a go.

Class 2 is for Novice handlers and improvers. Aimed at those with a more experience and looking
to or have competed in tests and looking to improve.

Following up Training: if there is sufficient interest, follow up classes will build on what has
been learnt on the Training Day. The Classes will be at Orchard Cottage, date and time to be
agreed. They will be aimed at working towards a Working Gundog Certificate Assessment Day
organised by Jinkster Gundogs at the end of the Summer.

TRAINERS:

Mrs KIM JINKS - Kim is a very experienced trainer, an A panel judge and a successful competitor in
Test and Field Trials with both Golden Retrievers and Labradors.

Mrs FIONA BAIRD - Fiona is a 3rd generation of trainer and breeder of Golden Retrievers. She has
competed with them and is the author of “Training your Puppy: The Essential Guide”. There is little
Fiona does not know or has not experienced when training Golden Retrievers.

DIRECTIONS: Will be emailed with confirmation of booking.

EQUIPMENT NEEDED: Bring: Whistle, slip lead, 1 lb canvas dummy.

REFRESHMENTS: Tea / Coffee and cake after. PLEASE BRING YOUR LUNCH.

COST: £30 Members (Given Preference) £40 non members with Golden Retrievers. To be paid via the
shop section on the Club website - choose TASTER DAY.

CLOSING DATE: Wednesday 30th APRIL.
